Feng Shui Wind Chimes

One of the most well known home remedies used in feng shui practice is the use of feng shui wind chimes. These chimes can either be placed inside or outside the house. Feng shui wind chimes use sounds to change the energy or qi of a space. They can either protect the area from the qi that moves too fast or help activate the stagnant qi within the area. Hence, different areas of a house may have different reasons for needing the chimes.

Wind chimes are available in different types and materials. The material of which the wind chime is made has special significance in feng shui, since wind chimes are predominantly used to represent different types of elements. Feng shui have five elements: wind, water, fire, wood and metal. Except for the element of fire, feng shui elements can be represented by wind chimes. Glass chimes symbolize the water element. Bamboo or wood chimes symbolize the element of wood. Ceramic chimes symbolize earth element. The element of metal which the most commonly represented element can be symbolized by chimes made from iron, steel, aluminum, brass, bronze and copper.

The number of rods in a wind chime is also significant. The most preferred number of rods is five, since each rod represents one of the five elements of feng shui. This is used to help harmonize an area. Wind chimes with six or eight rods are primarily used to enhance or draw in good luck.
